Following some tough pandemic years, things are looking up for Heathrow airport in terms of passenger numbers again. Numbers published in the media state that six million passengers were served by the airport in August of 2022.
Comparing this to the same period one year earlier, when Heathrow saw just 2.2 million travelers passing through its terminals, we can consider numbers are making a remarkable return to near-pre-pandemic levels.
The situation has not yet fully caught up with the ways of old, though: in August of 2019, before the pandemic struck, Heathrow welcomed 7.7 million passengers.
